Character Name: Robin
Canon: Fire Emblem: Awakening
Canon Point: After his sacrifice against Grima
Background/History: "The greatest mystery of the group."Personality:Revised:Robin was an amnesiac when he was first found by Chrom, which meant that he was a blank slate by the point of time. Compared to other Avatars, Robin has a defined personality set, as basic as it was. He's determined, calculating and most definitely prepared for any variables that come as his way. There was no denying that it was Robin's plans that pulled the Shepherd to victory more than half the time with the Shepherd giving it their all being the other half of the factor, defeating adversaries no matter where they go.
Friendliness, that would be the one trait that's immediately apparent upon contact with Robin. He's polite, and will always refer to you in a slightly cheerful manner unless you're openly antagonistic towards him; in which case he'd be more guarded rather than open. Further conversations will often lead the other party discover that the generally serious and overworking male actually has a different side of him that's repressed during wartime. His way of acting could change from being mature and composed to childish and easily flustered, depending on the person he's interacting with, and considering the amount of supports he has with other people within the game itself... Well, let's just say he's more animated than his appearance led you to believe.
Like any other protagonists, he's prone to cluelessness, in part due to his amnesia as well as unfamiliar circumstances. While he learns quick, he's easily caught off-guard when put in a situation he's never been in, seen in Lissa's support where he spent the first part of his support getting caught by her tricks before finally catching on to her tricks and putting on some tricks himself as a fair fight. He's also one who will pick up a rivalry should the other party impresses him, shown in the time he spent with Virion doing mock strategy battles using the pieces he created by himself. And while he often seems distant, he's more likely to give you either advice on to improve your fighting and/or get into discussion about strategies. He's always willing to explain strategies he used in the battle if you just ask.
Being a tactician, it's no wonder that Robin deals with a lot of things in the Shepherd. From battle strategy, equipment management, placement to adapting to situational changes on the fly, he has to maintain the Shepherd's strength through all those channels. In fact, so focused in these things he is that he often spent time within the camp reviewing over strategies, and reading strategy books as opposed to relaxing. While he does not pride himself for being over-prepared, he acknowledged that in this kind of warfare, being caught while your guard's down will spell the end for the Shepherd, which is why he overworks himself most of the times. Parts of his support involved him doing rounds around the camp, overexerting him into exhaustion more than half of the time.
Robin always tries to find a way out of a situation with no sacrifices at all, though, that doesn't mean he's entirely against sacrifices. Robin viewed the concept of sacrifice as something really important that couldn't just be waved off with a single wave of your own hand. If Robin had to be forced to make a sacrifice, you can be sure that the opportunity created will be utilized and remembered to the fullest by him as opposed to just forgetting it after a few days. An example of this would be his request to Basilio, whereupon he requested the former Khan to swap the Five Gemstones with the false ones as a trap for Validar alone. It had been risky using only one person for the task, but considering that the Khan faked his death in a sacrifice; he knew of the fact that this would take him out of the radar, and thus able to sneakily complete it.
Chrom is one of Robin's most important people, being his very first friend as well as his constant companion throughout this whole journey. The two often leaned on each other for support whenever one needs it; whether it's Robin's encouraging words whenever Chrom's uncertain of himself, or Chrom's bravery inspiring Robin to continue on, these two shaped each other's life in such a way that the death of one would lead to the demise of other. Chrom trusted Robin with his life, and Robin trusts Chrom with his dreams, that's how important they are to each other.
To Robin, the bonds between his comrades and himself is one of the most important thing, as it not only defines himself as a person; it also helped them overcome their issues, or just giving them another friend to count on. Whatever happens during the support, it's really clear that he cherishes the time spent with his friends, as he knows that the idle days he spent with them is not going to last forever. In fact, it was this very bond he has with them that enabled him to fight against his scripted fate of being consumed by Grima, as their words was what instilled him to get up and fight to the last breath. Depending on the choice, he's also willing to do everything for them, whether it's to follow Grima in exchange for their safety, or denying him with his every being. Whichever path he chose, it's clear that he views his comrades as something irreplaceable, if his 'never sacrificing anyone' attitude isn't clear already.
Considering his memory loss and the truth of his familial heritage, Robin had to deal with the fact that his own enemy that he scorned so much is his father; and then compounded with the fact that he was only bred to be a host to what seemed to be the true evil of the world, it's a miracle Robin could even pull himself together from the revelations to continue functioning to some. While it seemed that these didn't affect him at first, a scene showed that in actuality, he felt that his own death would be enough to atone for the problems he had dragged Chrom and the others into. He rarely shared his innermost thoughts, considering he feels that there are more to worry about for the others as opposed to his own.. In essence, his distaste of sacrificing others as well as seeking to atone for his faults led him to choose the selfless decision to sacrifice himself for the sake of the world, if only so the others could have the chance to lead a peaceful life.
Abilities/Powers: Being a Tactician that was reclassed into a Grandmaster, Robin's stats are well-balanced leaning towards magic, which meant that he's a bit more adept at magic than some of the Shepherds, though not to the point of the other sorcerers within the army.
He also has access to the following abilities at the moment:
Ignis: Adds half of the user's strength to complement their magic while using tomes or Levin Swords, and vice versa should the user use physical weapons.
Rally Spectrum: Rallies the troop, giving them an increase in all their stats (In game, it'd increase their stats by 4)
Veteran: When paired up, increase EXP gain by 50%
Solidarity: Increases Critical Evades and Critical Rates by 10 to adjacent allies.
Items/Weapons:1x Brave Sword (30): A sword that allows the wielder to attack twice, should the wielder has enough of a physical constitution, it would enable them to strike four times within one confrontation.
1x Bolganone (25): A tome that contains the spell to cause eruptions below an enemy's feet, severely injuring them.
1x Silver Sword (30)
Sample Entry:[...the feed opens to a view of a person staring at the camera a little bit too close.]This device is certainly handy to have when you need to contact a faraway person, isn't it?
[Ah, looks like he's asking a question to you all right now, considering his confused face as he drew himself back by a fair bit.]In any case, this isn't exactly the reason I'm talking to you all right now.
[He put his right hand to his chin, seemingly thinking up of something.]Have you perhaps seen a blue-haired male going by the name of Chrom? Or perhaps a group referring to themselves as the Shepherd? If you have, do not hesitate to contact me, or if you
are the aforementioned person, we need to meet-up soon.
[And with a small nod:]Thank you for your time.
Sample Entry Two:...They're coming from all directions.
That's the first fact he knew of upon reaching the scene of carnage that's currently taking place within the Haven. He had heard of monster attacks happening at a certain point, but he certainly didn't expect this attack has such an amount that it outnumbered even the largest Risen hordes the Shepherds had encountered during their journey.
Right, calm down, there has to be a way to get them out of this.
He thought to himself as he surveyed the rugged field of battle, the approaching monsters, and the certainly exhausted party fighting them back in order to survive this wave. The exits are blocked and the only way out is to focus on one pathway and completely fighting through a horde in order to accomplish that.
There's a mental chuckle on his end as he thought about how Chrom would go about this. But at this stage, there's no way
any of them will survive a breakthrough attempt.
Well, he still has a few more usage of Bolganone to help them, and he's certain that as long as they can hold their fighting spirit till the end...
"...Alright, I've got a plan."
They
will make their way out of this
alive.
